RICE STUFFED CORNISH HENS

Rice Stuffed Cornish Hens

INGREDIENTS

-5 Cornish hens

-2 glass of rice

-3 tablespoon oil and 1 tablespoon butter

-1 teaspoon sugar

-1 tablespoon currants (water it a little)

-1 tablespoon pine nuts

-3 glass of boiling water (1.5 glass of water per 1 glass of water)

-salt and pepper

PREPARATION

Instructions for rice:
Wash the rice for several times. Put oil into a flat pot, and cook pine nuts for a while.

Then, add rice and cook with a medium heat for couple of minutes.

Add boiling water, sugar, salt and currants, then turn the heat low and wait until it absorbs all the water.

Then, cover the pot with paper towel and wait for a while.
The sauce for hen:
-2 tablespoon tomato paste
-1 tablespoon red pepper paste
-1 tablespoon ketchup (optional)
-1 tablespoon honey (recommended)
-1 tablespoon soya sauce (instead of salt)
-pepper
* Mix all of the ingredients above to make a viscous sauce.

Stuffing the hen:
First wash and clean the hen. Then apply some salt and pepper in it.

Stuff the hen with rice by using a spoon (make it tight). Attach both sides with the help of a toothpick.

Apply the sauce on the hen with your hand. Then, cook in an oven either on an ovenware or in a cooking bag.

If you like, you can cook potato, squash and onion with it.

NOTES

Place the hen on the ovenware on its back.
If you cook with ovenware, cover it with aluminum foil for the first 45 minutes.

Then, remove the foil and keep cooking till it is fully cooked.
Set the oven to 200 C (390 F)
